HOW ARE PRP AND PRF DIFFERENT?
Is processed at a higher speed in order to make both PRP and PRF, your blood sample is spun at a high speed, allowing heavier components of your blood to sink to the bottom of the container, while lighter platelets and plasma stay at the top. This process makes it easier to extract only the platelets and plasma — or PRP.
Has a higher platelets count, this might surprise you, given the two products’ names. But because PRP is spun more quickly, many of the platelets can wind up being left out of the final product. The number of platelets will still be higher than what’s normally found in your blood — generally from 3-5 times higher.
However, the slower speed associated with PRF production may allow even more platelets to remain in the final solution. That means it can be an even richer source of platelets.
EXTRACTION -PRP’s extraction process involves additives and chemicals to thin the blood, while PRF is extracted in a process that is completely natural and unmodified, with no additives.
RESULTS -PRF releases the growth factors for a longer period of time than PRP due to the blood-thinning additives that PRP has. This means that PRP is only “active” for about one day, while PRF is active for about one week.
COST -PRF treatments cost more than PRP treatments due to the advantages that PRF has.

Both PRP and PRF have many uses and at MOVAI SKIN, we use it to rejuvenate the skin. The platelets that are within the plasma contain growth factors, which stimulate skin tissue repair and regeneration, as well as new collagen and elastin production. This process results in skin that’s healthier, firmer, tighter, and more youthful-looking. When patients arrive for their treatment, blood is drawn from a vein and placed into a centrifuge so that the plasma can be separated from the red blood cells and other impurities. The plasma is then placed into a syringe so that it can be injected into the face. It can also be used in conjunction with other treatments such as microneedling.
